What’s the inspiration behind the Air Jordan 6 Slam Dunk? 

Some of you may already know this, but the Slam Dunk Jordan 6 is inspired by a Japanese Anime of the same name. Various characters and nods to the famous Slam Dunk anime can be seen throughout the cool red and 3M upper of the shoe. 

Slam Dunk itself is a basketball-centric comic that debuted in 1990. Now, more than 30 years later the anima has a cult following, which is why the Slam Dunk Air Jordan 6 was such a popular shoe. 

How much does the Air Jordan 6 Slam Dunk cost? 

When it retailed in November 2014 the Slam Dunk Jordan 6 cost $250. It was released alongside the Jordan Super.Fly 3, which at the time was one of the brand's performance basketball models. Now if you want to get your hands on a new pair of the Slam Dunk 6s you’re going to spend at least $600. 

Sometimes I wonder what this shoe would sell for if it was released today. Considering that the sneaker game has changed so much in the 8 years since its release, I would venture to say you’d have a harder time getting your hands on this shoe today as opposed to 2014.
