How Vick Almighty Brought These 'Fire Red' Jordan 4s Back to Life

Welcome back to another episode of Vick’s Customs & Restorations, where every sneaker has a story, and sometimes, all it takes is the right care and craftsmanship to bring it back to life.

This time, Vick got his hands on a pair of 2020 Fire Red 4s that had been through the wringer. Yellowed soles. Crushed leather. Scuffed midsoles. You name it.

 

But if there's one thing we know, it’s that no pair is ever too far gone in the hands of Vick Almighty.

 

 

 

Step 1: Deep Clean with the Signature Kit

Vick started strong with a deep clean using our Signature Shoe Cleaning Kit. Dirt, grime, and buildup didn’t stand a chance, especially once the sneakers ran through the Sneaker Laundry System. Step 2: Sole Revive = Icy Soles

The soles were next. Years of oxidation had turned them yellow and dull, but with Sole Revive and a 24-hour icebox session, they were back to a clean, icy white. It’s one of the most satisfying transformations in sneaker restoration—and one of the most requested steps in Vick’s arsenal.

Step 3: Midsole Repaint

Next came the midsoles. Vick used a professional-grade rotary tool (PGR) and acetone to strip away the old, cracked paint. Once clean, he repainted them with precision—layer by layer—until the Fire Red colorway was fully restored. The black and white detailing? Spot on.

Step 4: Leather Reshape & Steam

The toebox was crushed, but not beyond repair. Vick sanded away the deep scratches and smoothed out the surface. Using the towel-and-steam iron method, he brought the leather back to shape, reviving the structure without damaging the material.

Step 5: Final Touches

With fresh paint, icy soles, and a fully reshaped upper, all that was left was a simple insole fix. One dab of glue and the Fire Red 4s were whole again. From beater to grail—just like that.
