How to Clean The Air Jordan 1 Low 'Mocha'

New Year, new Shoe Care Academy! Welcome to the first cleaning video of 2025.

We asked our Instagram followers how they wanted todirty the "Mocha" Air Jordan 1 Low. The result? Iced coffee. We also threw on some dirt for good measure.

In this video, Vick will use the Essential Shoe Cleaning Kit for this cleaning. The kit contains a 4 oz. bottle of our solution, all three brushes (Soft, Medium, and Stiff), and our cleaning mat. We'll also use our bowl and dry rack combo and shoe trees. And, of course, water.

To start, Vick will try to remove as much dirt as possible. Then, Vick uses the air compressor and brush to get that first layer of dirt off.

Since there's some creasing, Vick will insert the shoe tree to restore its shape and ensure it keeps its form during the cleaning.

Vick will use the Soft Bristle brush for the uppers. Since we won't be putting the shoe in the washing machine, Vick will spend extra time on the tongues to ensure they're extra clean.

Now, it's time to move to the Medium Bristle Brush. With it, Vick will focus on the white areas, especially the stitching, to bring them back to life. After doing so, he'll pat dry the shoe and move on to the midsole and outsole with the Stiff Bristle brush.

All that's left is to let the shoes dry. Vick will also work on the insoles and laces to finish the sneaker cleaning properly.

The Medium Bristle brush will be used once more to scrub the insole well. Vick will throw the laces into the leftover water and solution.

Vick will give the laces another scrub to guarantee cleanliness and then run them under the faucet with water to remove any small particles.

The final details include touching up the suede. Vick will take the Medium Bristle brush to go back and forth to make the suede look and feel good again. If you're doing this step at home, be sure that the brush is clean and completely dry.

Vick grabs the Mink Oil and Horsehair brush to bring that mocha brown color back to life on the pair.

All that's left to do is to lace them up. If you're going to clean these up, be very careful with the suede parts of the shoe, as they can bleed if not done delicately.
