How To Clean Thrashed Jordan 1 Satin Shattered Backboards With Reshoevn8r
Hey, how’s it going! Mr. Reshoevn8r back again and we are going to be cleaning these Air Jordan 1 Satins. They're pretty trashed and after the pretreatment, I will be putting these in the washing machine for a deeper clean.
We are going to start by taking out the laces and inserting the shoe tree. Then we are going to add some water and squirt some cleaning solution into the collapsible bowl.
The first brush we're going to use is our soft bristle brush, we're going to start with dipping it in our solution and gently going over the upper of the shoe. Now there's no need to press too hard, let the brush do the work for you, this satin material is delicate and any excessive force may cause the fibers to fray. Initially, we want to get every single little spot, so be sure to pull the flaps back and get inside all of those crevices, that'll help get a proper cleaning.
Now that the uppers are clean and we loosened the dirt with the soft brush, let’s go ahead and move on to the medium bristle brush. These bristles are now white, which is gonna help you distinguish between the stiff brush and the medium brush. With the medium brush, let’s hit the midsoles and also gently go over the uppers for a deeper clean. Once we have completely scrubbed the midsole and the uppers, let’s use the stiff bristle brush to clean the outsoles. You guys all know about this brush, this one's awesome for outsoles and midsoles.
So now what I'm gonna do is really get detailed on this midsole and clean the bottom of the shoe. The last thing we are going to do is take our microfiber towel, dip it in the solution and then I'm going to buff out some of the top section of the midsole. This is a good thing to do because sometimes the brush just doesn't quite have the friction you need to get some of the stains and hard to get debris out.
Now that we have completely pretreated the shoe, we're gonna put them in the laundry bag and throw them in the washing machine. Once the shoe is in the laundry bag, go ahead and tightened up the locks so the shoe is tightly packed. The small pocket on the bag is for the laces and the laundry pod. Place the laundry pod along with the laces right in there and close that up with the small loop and button. This particular shoe is a mix of satin and leather, so washing it in cold water should help reduce the risk of color bleed and fading.
After washing, let the shoe air dry in a well-ventilated space before you lace them back up. That is going to do it for this tutorial, our signature kit used for this cleaning can be found right here on our website along with all of our other products. As always, till next time!
