A History of Satin Air Jordan 1's

Posted by Brandon Ford on

The Air Jordan 1 has been receiving the satin treatment since 2016. Velvet overlays helped created a new dimension of hype surrounding this classic silhouette. Typically releasing in extremely limited quantities, there's always a large chance that you'll take an L on release day. Those who've been able to secure a pair of Satin Air Jordan 1's are either extremely plugged, celebrities, wealthy, or all 3! Although both the Royal and Bred iterations retail for $175, today they're worth well over $1k in secondary markets. Here's a recap of what you've probably missed out on.
SNEAKER: Air Jordan 1 Bred Satin
RELEASE: 10/18/16
PRICE: $175
SNEAKER: Air Jordan 1 Satin Royal
RELEASE: 4/1/17
PRICE: $175
SNEAKER: Air Jordan 1 Satin Shattered Backboard

If you're anticipating the Shattered Backboard colorway, you'll want to contact your plugs EARLY.  Although they're priced at $175, a release date has not been announced. The silky, satin finish appears to complement the orange and black color scheme PERFECTLY. Be sure to grab a RESHOEVN8R kit in the meantime. We'll keep you posted on their release.
