Nike has brought back their prestigious HTM Collection. Last year, we saw Nike's revolutionary Flyknit material graze a basketball shoe, the Kobe IX Elite. This year, Nike is replicating the process but with the Kobe X model.
Right now, the current Kobe X model comes with a textile mesh upper as the Kobe X Elite Highs were announced with Flyknit materials. The first set of Elite Kobe Xs are the Team Collection. Along with the new Flyknit upper, the shoe keeps it's hybrid cushioning system (Lunarlon and Zoom).
The shoe features a number of subtle aesthetic details that were obsessed by the HTM team. For example, each colorway comes with two different sets of aglets that screw onto the laces. The aglets vary in color, but each features a metallic finish and HTM lettering.
For those wondering, HTM stands for Hiroshi, Tinker, and Mark. The three names belong to Hiroshi Fujiwara (the designer from Fragment Designs), Tinker Hatfield (Nike's legendary designer) and Mark Parker (Nike's CEO).
Those with European connects, we suggest you contact them ASAP since these will release in Milan on April 16, 2015. The Kobe X Elite Low HTMs will release exclusively at NikeLab LNZ1 Milan. For those of us in the states that don't have connects in Milan, we're forced to wait until the summer as they're scheduled to release later.
